Uniform Sponsor Form

The Glasgow Scottie Band has always been and always will be a link to some of the wonderful heritage that the city of Glasgow and Barren County represent. While this will never cease to be a top priority for our band, we also recognize that the demands of competitive marching band in Kentucky have changed drastically through the years. Therefore, to continue Glasgow’s “Tradition of Excellence” in regards to the band’s competitive efforts, we are purchasing a set of marching competition uniforms. We invite you to become a part of this new phase of Scottie Band history by sponsoring a uniform. Individuals, families, and businesses alike may “sponsor” a competitive uniform for the Glasgow Scottie Band in the amount of $400.00 per uniform. Of course, a donation of any amount is appreciated. If you would like to make a donation to help us meet our goal, simply fill out the below information and mail this form with your check, payable to Glasgow Scottie Band, to the following:

Glasgow Scottie Band
Attn: Corey Bonds
1601 Columbia Ave

All donations are tax deductible, thus you will be receiving a receipt of donation at the address you provide. We thank you sincerely for your assistance in continuing to provide meaningful opportunities for the students of the Glasgow Scottie Band program in their pursuit of excellence.

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENTS

Yes! February is over! We are anxious to say that we hope the winter is behind us and spring is on its way. As usual, there are many activities that take place during the spring months so please be sure to mark your calendars in advance so that you do not miss out.

The Glasgow Lady Scotties will be playing in the regional basketball tournament this week at Diddle Arena on the campus of Western Kentucky University. The pep band will be playing at the Lady Scotties’ first game on Tuesday, March the 2nd with possible pep band game dates of Friday, March the 5th, and Saturday, March the 6th depending on the outcome of Tuesday night’s game.

The Battle of the Bands will be held at Pa Pa John’s Restaurant on Tuesday, March the 2nd between Glasgow and Barren County. You can support the Glasgow band program by calling in an order, ordering on line, or eating in the restaurant on this day between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. All you have to do is mention Glasgow band when ordering, and a percentage of the sales will go back to support the band. You can order a large pizza with up to three toppings for just $10.00. Let’s be sure to support the Glasgow band program on this day by eating more Pizza than Barren County!

The Glasgow Scottie Band Parent Organization will be holding their Annual Corporation meeting during the month of March. The purpose of this meeting is to elect the officers of the organization for the 2010/2011 fiscal year and address any other items of business as need be. This meeting will be held on Thursday evening, March 11th beginning at 7:00 in the band room. Please notice that, due to the possibility of the girls basketball team playing in the regional basketball tournament at WKU on March the 4th, the regularly scheduled booster meeting has been rescheduled to March the 11th. The Executive Board meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. The Awards Banquet Committee meeting initially scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. on March the 11th will begin at 5:00 p.m.

Solo and Ensembles will be held on Saturday, March the 20th at Barren County High School.

Last, but certainly not least, congratulations to Corey and Katherine on the arrival of Paxton Avery Bonds! Paxton was born on Friday, February the 26th. He weighed 8lbs 5oz and was 21.5 inches long. WELCOME TO OUR FAMILY, PAXTON!

Please contact us at 590-5305 or kellye.m.bishop@gmail.com if you have any questions. It’s our pleasure to serve you!

Fw: Booster Meeting Rescheduled

This message is from Kellye Bishop:
Due to the possibility that the girls basketball team could be playing Thursday night, March the 4th,  in the regional basketball tournament at WKU, I am going to cancel the booster meeting scheduled on this same evening.  It will be rescheduled to the next Thursday evening, March the 11th, beginning at 7:00 with the Executive Board meeting at 6:00.  I felt this would be the best thing to do instead of everyone's plans being up in the air at the last minute.
