Year End Slide Show
We need your pictures! Tambra Cambron and her son Daniel have offered to put together our year end video and slide show that will be presented at the banquet-- but she needs pictures. There are several ways you can send them to her. You can email to her at tcambron@glasgow-ky.com or put them on a disc and send them to school or bring them to her at the booster meeting this Thursday.
They will be working on this during spring break- so be sure to get them to her before then! |

April Newsletter
Message from the Director
Spring is FINALLY here! Along with warmer weather, longer days, and the great outdoors comes the preparations for the next marching season. We have passed out paperwork for the 2009 Scottie Marching Band. The show has been chosen, and the music is starting to be heard blaring from my office. Please help us as we begin to make preparations for next season. We are going to need all hands on deck this year--Lots of prop building, painting, equipment hauling, and cheering are going to be needed. We also will be having some TRIP PLANNING taking place this month. Be on the lookout for dates and times of a mandatory meeting concerning our Orlando trip. These will be hosted by our tour company, Taylor Tours. You will not want to miss these informative meetings.
Also, the preparations of a new year also mean the close of another. We have lots of events coming up in which you will certainly want to participate. Concert Band Festival will take place at Bowling Green Junior High School on Campbell Lane in Bowling Green, KY on Saturday April 18th. The 7th/8th grade band will be performing at 10:10AM and the Glasgow High School Concert Band will be performing at 3:00PM. We would love to have you in attendance for this event. It is probably our most important event all year long, because this is our Performance Assessment where we go and play for a panel of four judges who in turn give us a rating of Distinguished, Proficient, Apprentice or Novice--just like CATS testing. These students have been working extremely hard on their music for this performance and we would love to have a GREAT, SUPPORTIVE audience for this performance. Other upcoming performances include, our Spring Concert on Sunday, May 17th, at 3:00PM in Glasgow High School Gymnasium. This should be yet another enjoyable performance by your Scottie Band. There will also be Graduation tentatively scheduled for Friday, May 22nd and the Highland Games on Friday, May 29th and Saturday, May 30th. Both of these events will be required attendance for the students.
Finally, please stay up to date with your calendars...this time of year always gets crazy with everyone's schedules. If you feel the need to email or call with questions, do not hesitate. I will try my best to communicate as much as possible with you and your children. HAPPY SPRING! Let's finish the year strong!

March "Kiltcorner" Newsletter
From the Director:
Another school year is quickly passing by and the Glasgow Scottie Band is looking down the hatch at another successful year in the record books and another successful year for the making of 2009-2010. Pep Band season is coming to a close with District and Regional Tournaments, possibly even state...Solos and Ensembles are March 7th. Times of student performances will be published on our website and the students have been informed of their performance times as well. Also, Concert Band Festival is coming up Saturday, April 18th. I wanted to let you all know that the site for that event has been changed this year due to construction on the campus of WKU. We are having it at Bowling Green Junior High School on Campbell Lane in Bowling Green. I want to strongly encourage you to attend this concert festival event. There will be a gathering of several schools playing that day. Our performance time is 3:00PM. It would be a great experience for you and your child as we have been preparing for a "Distinguished" performance from a "Distinguished" group of students.
With all the events of this year wrapping up, please be aware that planning for next year has also already begun. The marching show is currently being selected, and there are going to be needs for props, and equipment movers, and construction hands all throughout the summer. Be on the lookout for more of those details. Also be on the lookout for paperwork concerning signing up for the 2009 Glasgow Scottie Marching Band. And please remember your trip payments. We are coming to a near finish on these as we are preparing to send final numbers to Taylor Tours, our travel company, and prepare for a great week in DISNEY WORLD! As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me or call me and I will gladly listen and talk with you. Have a wonderful March! Spring is right around the corner!

FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER INFORMATION
Hello to all! Hope this cold weather finds everyone healthy, happy, and warm.
First of all we would like to say thanks to those individuals who volunteered their time to help with the fruit sales. As usual, the profit made for our band program was well worth the work.
Candy bar sales started January the 20th. A letter stating the details of the sale was sent home with your child along with a case of fifty chocolate bars. Please be sure to ask your child about it. Once they have sold their initial case of candy bars and turned in their $50.00 for that case, please contact us or Mr. Bonds to get more. You can reach us at 590-5305. Students will have the opportunity to earn $10.00 toward their student accounts for every case of candy bars that they sell. All unsold candy bars and money collected must be turned in to us or Mr. Bonds on February the 20th.
If you have any questions, please call.
