Message from our Director
Your Glasgow Scottie Band had an incredible weekend at KMEA Regional Competition. The state is divided into halves (East and West). We participated in the Western Division of Class AA, and along with scoring a Distinguished Rating, we placed third place overall. This was the first Distinguished rating the Glasgow Band has seen under my leadership of 2 seasons. To further view this accomplishment, we need to compare to the Eastern Region in class AA. We beat all bands from the East but one, Washington County. This means that we are currently ranked fourth in the state of Kentucky in Class AA….which brings me to your invitation!
We would love to have you come and join the band, its directors, and band parents in Louisville this weekend (Saturday, November 1st) as we compete for a chance at the STATE MARCHING BAND CHAMPIONSHIP. We compete at Pleasure Ridge Park High School @ 1:45PM Eastern Time…if we maintain our "top 4" status, we will go on to compete at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium Saturday evening…The top 20 bands in the state Class A through Class AAAAA will be competing for STATE CHAMPIONS in each class…please see the attached itinerary and driving directions.
If nothing else, please encourage these students to have a great week. Tell them how proud you are of them and show them that you believe in them because of their hard work. This is not something that happens every year…as a matter of fact, this could possibly only be the 5th time in the past 30 years this has happened!!!! I don't know any other way to say it:

Don't Get "SOUSA"-ED ******* buy your insurance today!!!
This fundraiser will help support the Glasgow Scottie Band in it's efforts to purchase some much-needed new instruments. We are experiencing great improvements in our band program and we need your financial support.
"SOUSA-SURANCE" $10.00 Flat Fee. This is insurance that will prevent the marching Sousaphones from ever making it into your front yard. For those people who have "Sousa-phobia", it may be better to be proactive than reactive...
For a $15.00 donation, the sousaphone will march out of you yard.
For a $25.00 donation, you get to choose the lawn that the sousaphone marches to next.
We want this fundraiser to be fun and safe for all involved, including our precious Sousaphones!
For more information please call The SCOTTIE BAND OFFICE @ 651-8792 for more details.
