Justin Meredith--8th Chair Trumpet 9th/10th Grade band
Also, please be aware that I am in the process of trying to provide the opportunity for private lessons for every child in band program, 6th grade through 12th grade. This has been a huge undertaking as I am trying to find a person that is highly qualified on each instrument to be able to spend one-on-one time with each student helping them learn more about their instrument. If you have not seen those papers floating around, or you would be interested finding more out about those lessons, please contact me in the band office, 651-8792.
Please be on the lookout for more information concerning the trip to Orlando in June. We are in the process of putting together balances for each individual's trip. Upcoming events include the Christmas parade on December 6th (ALL STUDENTS), Community Christmas Concert at the Plaza on December 7th (Brass Ensemble), and the Christmas Concert on Thursday, December 18th, 7:00PM @ Glasgow Baptist Church. Please invite all of your friends and family to come out to the concert. These students have worked extremely hard to put together what certainly will be an enjoyable concert for all involved. It would be a great way to kick off the holiday break! And finally, A huge THANK YOU for all the hard work the students and parents alike put into this past marching season. It was certainly a VERY good year, springing us forward as we are already beginning to put things into motion for next year. Please continue to come to meetings as we are continually looking for new faces that can help in any way possible for the band to be able to accomplish what needs to be accomplished. Have a blessed holiday season!

From the Presidents Elect…
Now that marching season is over, Carl and I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank each and everyone from the band director down to the pit pups for all your hard work, dedication, and time spent perfecting this past seasons contest show. Watching the progress that the Scottie Band program has made since band camp in August is phenomenal! Although it would have been great to finish as one of the top four bands in class AA in the state of Kentucky, finishing number six is nothing to be ashamed of! WE ARE PROUD OF YOU!
Thanks to all who helped make the Krispy Kreme Doughnut sales a huge success. It would not have happened without your help.
Also, thanks to those that came out and supported the band by eating at Zaxby’s on November the 4th. We had a great turn out!
Thanks to Will and Delana Webb for chairing and organizing the pancake fry and Kilted Kristmas! Thanks to all who volunteered their time to help make this a festive, fun event!
Listed below is what is going on with fundraising and what is coming up within the next couple of months.
FRUIT SALES
Fruit sales will continue through Wednesday, December the 3rd. All order forms
and money are to be turned into Mr. Bonds and Mr. Smith by 3:30 on this date.
Fruit will be delivered on Thursday, December the 11th and will be ready for pick
up at the same warehouse as last year on Reynolds Road behind Don’s Rental
between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Remember students will earn 10% of their total sales over $300.00 toward their
student accounts.
CHOCOLATE BAR SALES
Chocolate bar sales will begin Thursday, January the 15th and run through Friday,
February the 13th.
There will be a committee meeting to discuss chocolate bar sales on Monday,
December the 15th in the band room at 6:00 p.m. Anyone who would like to help
is welcome to attend.
GOLF SCRAMBLE
We are in the beginning stages of trying to organize a golf scramble for this spring. It will take multiple volunteers to pull this off if we want to make this a success.
There will be more to come as spring approaches.
Please call us at 678-7502 or email us at kmb@glasgow-ky.com if you have any questions, suggestions, or would like to volunteer to help out or chair any of these events.
Thanks a bunch!

From Color Guard Instructor…
I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone that has made my first year with Glasgow a delightful one. Any time you have a change of direction within an organization, you don’t always see eye to eye on everything. While the guard sure had some bumps and bruises along the way, I feel strongly we have risen above that, and have arrived where we need to be. These kids have grown so much throughout the season and have potential beyond what they have yet to believe. I am very excited to be a part of this “tradition-rich” program.
I also would like to thank all the parents that made this season possible. I have worked with several different programs in my short time of teaching, and I will be the first to say Glasgow parents are second to none. I have not seen a group of parents so dedicated and willing to do anything and everything they are asked, and for that I applaud you all.
Last but not least, I want to give thanks to Mr. Corey Bonds for everything he has done for this program. I have known Mr. Bonds for a long time now and will say the amount of dedication, commitment, and emotion that he has for this program is unlike anything I have ever seen. I tip my hat to you Mr. Bonds. Great things are happening with this program, and this would not be possible without you.
